Dan A. Iancu is a Professor of Operations, Information, and Technology and the Srivani Faculty Fellow at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and the Peiros Family Faculty Fellow at the Stanford King Center on Global Development. His work examines how individuals and organizations can use analytics, optimization, and AI to make better decisions under uncertainty.

His research has two connected threads. One develops optimization and AI-enabled approaches for decision-making under uncertainty; the other applies these tools, together with economic modeling and empirical analysis, to problems in global supply chains, sustainable operations, finance, healthcare, and public policy. Across both threads, he is interested in improving efficiency and resilience while advancing fairness and broader social and environmental goals.

His research has appeared in leading journals in operations research and management science and has received best-paper awards from several INFORMS societies. He serves on several editorial boards, including as Area Editor for Optimization at Operations Research and as an Associate Editor at Management Science.

His teaching spans doctoral, MBA, and executive programs, with courses on analytics, optimization, responsible AI, value chain management, and resilient and sustainable supply chains.

Before joining Stanford, he was a Goldstine Fellow at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. He holds degrees from Yale, Harvard, and MIT.
